Hi everyone! Today I am writing this blog to let you know how I got to know about Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and how I started exploring it myself.

I am not going to bore you all with a long article describing myself and all. So, let's quickly start through the story — The story of my journey as an RPA Developer.

I am currently working as a Support executive in a software company named Tata Consultancy Services. Being in a support project, all you have to do is to work on the pre-designed applications from the Client. But doing everyday same 9 hours job is not my kind of thing. I want to explore more into technologies. But you might be wondering how I landed at RPA- The technology which I never heard of.

How did I get to know about RPA?

Okay, so let’s begin the second part of the story but for that, you must know that I graduated from Electronics. I practiced hardware robotics in my 2nd and 3rd year. I participated as a team in the All India Robotics Competition- eYantra at IIT Bombay. Not even once but actually twice. So, from there the thirst for learning robotics grown inside me. The first time my team won the competition and landed with 4 weeks Summer Internship at IIT Bombay. That experience was surreal. Even though we won the competition the first time, we participated the second time also. You must be wondering why what more you can get. But believe me, it is the robotics that we loved.

Being in an IT company, I lost a chance to practice robotics. I have no equipment for making robots. That’s where I thought that I know I can’t work on hardware robots but what if there are some software robots and I literally googled “Software Robots”.

I found information about RPA, tools related to RPA, where I can learn it, etc. So that’s how I landed into RPA. Interesting, isn’t it?

How I learned/practiced RPA and using which tool and why?

After I got some information about RPA, I started learning it. Thankfully my company bought the license for LinkedIn Learning, Udemy, and Fresco Play (their Platform). I did starter courses on each of the platforms just to clear about what exactly it is.

You can all read and even watch youtube videos about the RPA. Now you can find lots of content related to RPA on several platforms.

I got to know that you can implement RPA using various tools such as UiPath, Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere.

But I chose to learn using UiPath. Why? Click on the below link to know about it:

https://www.auxis.com/blog/top-rpa-tools#:~:text=UiPath%20is%20considered%20one%20of,implementation%20much%20more%20time%2Dconsuming.

From the above link, you get to know all the theories and business perspectives regarding UiPath but let me tell you from my personal experience. UiPath Studio is a flexible tool both for users and organizations. It requires minimal coding. You can create a robot just by drag and drop activities. Isn’t it awesome?

Not everyone in the world is born to be a coder, but using UiPath anyone can be a coder.

What I have done till now to learn RPA? What more to do?

Okay, so I have started doing courses on Udemy such as Complete UiPath RPA Developer Course: Build 7 Robots by Leon Petrou, RPA Developer course on Fresco Play, UiPath: Robotic Process Automation (RPA) on LinkedIn, and so on. You can find several courses on the UiPath Academy website also (https://academy.uipath.com) and that too for free. When I started to learn it, I don’t even know about the courses on UiPath but they have a huge number of courses available for free in various languages.

Speaking about what more to do, I guess there is no limit on learning. Some of you might already be working as RPA Developer, RPA BA, Solution Architect, etc. but I just started my learning and there are many more things I want to learn in RPA, many more experiments I want to do with RPA.

I know I wrote a lot though I promised you not to bore, when it comes to RPA, I can’t help at all. Today I wrote this blog to inspire many more experienced people like me who are still wondering if they are doing the perfect job?

To inspire many more students who yet to enter the professional world, to choose wisely and then decide what is good for them.

I hope you enjoyed my first blog!!!
